Summer and fall 2015 Donation Drive

We are doing a book drive all summer and fall and welcome any books that you feel could help the cause.

Spring is a time where we clean out the garage, attic and other pile-able places in our home or apartment.

If your are facing that huge stack, or wall, of books, deciding whether to let go of that psychology textbook from freshman year, 1989, our book donation consultants can help you sort out what to keep and what to give.

For example, our older customers frequently have large amounts of books to donate when downsizing from a house to an apartment. We always advise people to ask any of their children to look through the books, as there may be books with sentimental value.

We take most hardcover and softcover books in good condition including cookbooks, textbooks, hobbyist/how-to. We don’t take encyclopedias anymore.

Besides selling books, we also donate them to various thrift stores such as Goodwill, Sustainability, as well as individuals who are running free libraries. We publish free book giveaways on Freecycle and Craigslist.

Finally, we have the beginnings of the ability to sell books on this site, via our eBay store.  Join our newsletter (fill out contact us requesting such) and I’ll send out our current Best Offer’s in our store. These are automated specials as well as 99 cent sales.

Plus a five percent of what you buy goes to support First Book.
