Spring Whale of a Used Book Sale 2017 Starts Today

The 2017 Whale of a Used Book Sale starts today with a p[review for friends members and starting in earnest at 10 AM tomorrow. The sale goes through June 4th. This is the big sale for the support of the friends of the Jeffco libraries. The past decade, the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden hosted it and this year is no different. Past years have had over 50,000 books in the $1 to $2 range. Very good conditions, not just library discards. The sale also typically has a bag sale. it’s spread out through the main building and usually they have it generally sorted by subject and age group. One of the interesting sponsors is the Book Stop in Wheat Ridge. I checked out their website and they have an online ordering system for hard to find books that looked pretty interesting. The Book Stop store is also packed with books and has had at least two owners so it’s been a presence in Colorado for a few years.
